I hope 2017 is ok for you so far?
I haven't posted any rojects so far as my camera and laptop stoed communicating with each other!!
It has been really frustrating but hope I have managed to sort it by scanning the cards with my printer - had a light bulb moment! - although missed my challenge dates.

So here are a few fast and simple cards I have made mainly with diecuts as been playing with some dies I refound during my ongoing reorganisation and a couple I got in the sizzix uk sale.

First pic is using a sizzix card die and water colour paper, I used some spray inks[ glimmer mists] from my stash on the watercolour paper and then diecut the image out and adhered to a craft card background and distress inked, with shabby shutters, the the craft card to blend in with the diecut. Aslso cut out the sentiment with the same background piece and adhered to a sellbinders die cut from their card builder set a.

Next card is one I made for the LessisMore challenge for dimension but as above missed the cut off date! thos too uses a sizzix die which I have had for a number of years so not sure it is still available but I thought it was a fun image. The die cut is the pea pod and baby faces. It is attached to a punched iamge from a martha stewart edge punch. The sentiment is hand written.

Nearly finished! This card is a valentine's card again using sizzix dies - 2 of Tim Holtz's and a thinlit heart.- The key was cut from another thinlits set - New Home.
The scribbled heart was made by diecutting it from foam and then using it as a stamp with versamark and embossed with gold powder. The heart, wings and key were mounted into a background embossed with a text folder [ think it is by cricut].

This final pic is pf 4 batch christmas cards from a set of 10 made using a sizzix card die - using just the die cut on a background - really quick and easy as a fund raiser and a good way to use up christmas papers - also as I found that they were popular in 2016 am getting a headstart.

As I said all quick and simple but doing quick makes in between rerganising keeps me going!!
This is not my time of year, the short, grey, cold days do not help me feel creative. But back to the LiM challenge for this week which is one layer and the theme is on outlines.
http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.co.uk/2016/12/challenge-306-one-layer.html

I have gone for a monochrome look using versamark black pigment ink and my Scorit.
The picture doesn't quite show the embossed lline down the side of the spotty border. For this card I used some Kuretake dot pens - I have uncovered such a lot of things I forgot I had - in primary colours to make the dotty border and to cover the diecut sentiment. Clear gems were added to the blue dots in the border and the embossed border was made with my Scorit tool,
I used a Picasa effect to to give a blue background and polaroid effect.
Todays 2nd post is a canvas rather than a card as I found some texture paints and stencils in my declutter [which is still ongoing by the way :( ]
I have used gesso for the background and then used white texture paint through a diamond stencil keeping it quite deep for dimension and not being too straight as the texture is the thing I wanted to highlight although still keeping the rule of 3.. I also added 3 stencilled images with black matte dreamweaver embossing paste - again keeping it rough textured for dimension. I kept to the monochrome colour scheme for impact. It is a long time since I have tried working with a canvas and really enjoyed it and am in the process of another two - it is a fun play with texture :)

I am entering this in the following challenge
welove2create - mixed media - anything goes -
This card is one I made using a spellbinders metal stencil/embossing die and I really like it.
I have used distress inks for colouring in and die cut butterflies using a sizzix thinlit from the big shot plus starter kit. The background die cut is one from Anna Griffin. The sentiment is a stamp by tonic.
Todays card is made using small squares cut, using a sizzix die, from a background I made using acetate, alcohol inks and tissue paper. I cut 3 small squares and added a small peel off star. This was set on 3 askew strips cut from a toning co ordinations card. The same peel offs were used atthe top and bottom of the card.
Still decluttering - ever wished that some ideas are not the best !! Still it will get completed although my target date is now flexible so still on the very quick cards
This card couldn;t be simpler as it is using a sizzix card maker die. I have used a sizzix embossing folder to emboss some co ordinations card as a background for the card front cut from silver mirri card.
Todays card is made using a Tim Holtz embossing folder which I used the letter press technique using a yellow distress ink pad. The flower is a scrap booking kit embellishment from my stash and I used a spellbinders die to cut the sentiment in 2 colours and offset them together.
I hope you are managing to get some crafting time, I am grabbing some odd bits of time while still continuing to declutter. However just having time to make really quick cards.
This card is using 2 Sweet Dixie dies, Snowman and snowflakes, that I bought as part of a set from the craft channel here in the UK [one of a choice of 3 channels], I used organza ribbon and glitter card for the background. The sentiment was an orphan clear stamp on a tonic diecut. Promarkers were used to colour some areas of the snowman
Happy crafting
Hope you have had some time for crafting today.
Going through my stash I am discovering dies and stamps that I forgot I had :)
This card used another Sizzix die that has the look of a Rennie McIntosh design about it I think,
I used 2 shades of blue card by DCWV.
The image was stamped/coloured with denim adirondak ink and the sentiment is another die cut - this time from spellbinders.
Here is my entry for ttis weeks colour theme. I have used a tonic diecut in lilac/mauve paper and petal point pigment ink in turquoise. I have clear embossed the petal shapes to add some dimension and enhance the colour. The sentiment is set into an embossed circle that I made with a 10p coin as nothing else was to hand and the declutter process means I am unable to find things!! The added gems on the butterfly diecut are from a docrafts goody bag. This time I decided to decorate the envelop with toning ribbon and butterfly punchies.
I hope you are having a good weekend. The weather here is lovely today and I have managed to grab a couple of ten minute breaks as trying to declutter and make a workable craft space as it has got out of hand - long overdue. Anyway getting some help so hope to be successful this time round. Trying to visit my followers but having some issues with blogger not giving me the links but will keep trying as have managed with some of you who have left me comments as the comment link is working, Off to make a card as having withdrawal symptoms Lol!
Happy craftingBeahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00756304623853511203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3065290110197683158.post-83350145301475708822016-09-19T16:10:00.001+01:002016-09-19T23:48:26.416+01:00The one heart for me!Hi fellow bloggers - I hope you are having a good Monday. This card is one I made using a Sizzix thinlit full card front diecut. I then added a red mirri card heart to the centre and raised it up on a foam pad. It is a really simple card to make but I think it makes a statement or rather hope it does!! I will try some other ideas with it I think as it is a lovely die that cuts very well and has some nice embossed details on the individual hearts. It also comes in a nice wallet with 5 additional loose hearts.
Happy crafting

The CAS challenge for this week is a theme week using diamonds.
This was lucky for me as I have an old diamond ring stamp which I thought woud be ideal for this weeks theme.

I stamped the ring with versamark and embossed with gold mica embossing powder. I then added 3 aurora borealis gems and then covered them with glossy accents to make the gem stone for the ring.
I used 2 sissix thinlit heart shape dies to make a gold mirri heart frame and then placed it over the stamped image. I then used more aurora borealis gems to edge the card. I decided to leave off a sentiment just now as not sure if I want to use one on the front of the card.

Happy crafting
I am a bit later with this challenge this week as was attending workshops and demos at the weekend.
The theme for the LiM challenge this week is to make a one layer card to show a favourite flower. I chose the pansy as they are my joint favourite with sweet peas but don't have a sweet pea stamp.

I made a mask so that I could stamp a circle shape. I used distress inks for the stamping and used cardio peg stamps. I also used the scorit to give a little background interest and the faux hanging chain.
the fringe is now finished and I have caught up with non craft stuff so can now get back to crafting, on the blog and visiting my blog buddies. :)
This weeks LiM challenge was to use the peacock feather and at first I had to have a think about how to do that as I don't have a peacock stamp. Anyway I decided to use the colours on a feather diecut using a die I have had for a while and is underused.
I used distress ink pads dusky concord and peacock feathers and the greeny colour came from a mixed colour pad that I hadn't stored properly so the colours became one!! oops! Still luckily it is a colour that meets the need for a peacock colour. I spritzed with a light gold mica and used rub ons in matching colours to make the 'eye' area of the feather. I also used dusky concord for the sentiment. The photo looks a bit 'bleached' as I had to use a flash as it was very overcast here. Happy crafting
apologies for not visiting or posting the last couple of weeks but the edinburgh fringe is on and is one of my favourite times of the year to visit, Only problem is with all the travelling time and lots of walking to get round the different events I want to see I have been too tired to craft, However next week it i over and "normal" life will resume.
Anyway trying to get organised and make my christmas cards early. This is a selection made using a sizzix die I bought some time ago and it is really straight forward to pull these together as you just need to select papers.
It was a bit of a learning curve to work out how all the bits could be used and what I have discovered is that it is a very versatile set of dies that can be used in all sorts of ways and not just for the diorama style. I will try out some other options and post them. For this card I decided to use a floral theme and found one of my embossing folders to give the back some added interest and then used a variety of sizzix flower dies to add additional embellishments - I decided that to justify my spend I can say that my paper stash will be cut!!! Lol! The stamp is one of my orphan clear stamps.
for my challenge card I have used distress inks for the background using a sizzix heart framelit die as a stencil - it is a mixture of shaded lilac laid over a little picked raspberry using a wet wipe to get a swirly, less even effect . The eiffel tower stamp is a second generation print off from a stamp by crafty individuals to give a faded antique appearance - the frame lines of the stamp are embossed with my scorit to give a shadow appearance. The sentiment and stitched edge is hand done using a kuretake calligraphy pen.
