weather!!!

We have just got through a real stinker of a snow period - we are never prepared here and everything came to a halt!! Mind you the start of the snow was quite spectacular with thunder and lightening along with the snow fall = amazing sight.
Trying to get organised for christmas - not succeeding very well - haha. Always say I will be better next year but!!!
think it will be a crafting christmas for me as more snow is due this weekend and I bought myself a christmas pressie a couple of months ago - a cricut expression so being off work will give e plenty of play time.

At last I'm getting started on my xmas cards

Have begun my Christmas cards at last - still lots to do but at least I've begun!!! I think it is the cold and snowy weather we have just now - that's why I must have found this snowman stamp so cute

I'm back!

Hi
I am just back from Malta - what a lovely warm [weather and people] place to be especially when it is cold here - I feel quite recharged so shope to get some new crafting on the way. Just before I went I went to a local craft workshop and learnt how to fold origami birds and make a brooch with them in a felt frame - they are very pretty and I made myself 2 and have worn one quite a bit as it matches stuff I wear.

I have ordered some felt and if I can remember the folds!! will have a go at some for presents. If not then plan B and I will use beads with the felt.

Visited the Craftwork cards blog this morning and they have a great competition to win a bundle of their new ribbons so why not check it out - you can never have too much ribbon.

New Spend

Well I decided to buy the Craftwell Ecraft Machine and gave it it's first try out tonight. First Impressions are mixed as I have had a few glitches but I will have to try it out some more before I decide if it was a good or bad buy. I would say however that I bought it from Oyster Stamps and their service was second to none - ordered on Monday lunchtime and it arrived on Tuesday - wow!!!

I will be giving you more info on my ecraft experience over the next week or so.

Win a new cricut cartridge

Hi FOllow the link below and you may be lucky
http://www.obsessedwithscrapbooking.com/2010/08/hello-thursday-august-cricut-cartridges.html

Been a while!

Well back again - don't know where the time has gone. Having work done in the house so crafting a bit curtailed as I can't lay my hands on what I want when I want it!! heh heh

Getting on well with the cricut and got some new cartridges from Customs Crops - they really do some great deals and good service too.

Have been scrapbooking though with my neighbour and getting on with my grandsons album - I have to have it done for his 18th in Dec which will be here soon enough. I'm still looking for some of his old photos - I wish I had been more organised with them.

There have been lots of craft tv shows on lately which mean I sit and watch when I should sit and do - but don't we all sometimes? Still I have picked up some good ideas from Dawn and guests on QVC and the cricut presenters from Provocraft on C & C.

July - where's the sun gone?

Well although the month started promisingly and it looked as though summer was here - sadly it went all too soon and we are back to monsoon weather without the warmth. Good for crafting and internet craft shopping though - now so good for the purse!!

Have been having fun with the cricut and also so glad I took the plunge and bought a gypsy - great fun designing - also increasing my library of cartridges from Custom Crops. These have been really helpful for scrapbooking as the gypsy font is lovely for old photo layouts.

Was given an old negative from my parents wedding in 1937 of the wedding party which I had to send to a specialist lab for printing. It came back a couple of weeks ago and after scanning to computer and having a play extracting elements made up a layout   with the large image for the family scrapbook. Sadly doesn't fit on the scanner so can't upload.

Had to do it!

Well I have made the leap and ordered a cricut gypsy - got a good deal from craft superstore. It will be a better way to spend my time on the train when I visit relatives as I should be able to design cards etc to cut when I get back to the cricut. Also bought 2 of Tim Holtz new dies the birdcage is so fab. I cut out some in balsa wood and am going to make a mobile. I will post it when finished.

Still trying to sort out my stash but now have a better idea of what I want to keep and what to let go - so some progress. However it is some job although probably don't need to tell anyone that as I am sutre most crafters have to deal with this situation at some point.

hooray!

I have finally found out how to upload pictures on here so that I can add some of my cards. I have been using Bazill card which I really love to use. The only thing I now need to find is my camera so that I can add cards that I am unable to scan - this is quite a journey of learning new things.
Used a stamp from one of Dawn Bibby's QVC sets - the images are really cute.
Used the sissix breast cancer texture plate and more of the Bazill card
Used my lovely Bazill again with Martha Stewart edge punch -  works well on this card - and Papermania fabric flowers. I lover the richness of these colours.

Back again!

Well it has been a while but now able to get back on my blog. Welcome to my new follower "anniesplace". I  hope not too many of you have had problems with the Icelandic volcano - nature is such a powerful force that seems to remind us every so often. I hope it doesn't mean that we won't get a summer though.

Craft wise I have begun to get back into card making again recently - just as well because even though I wasn't crafting I felt I still had to buy stash!!.

Went to the Ally Pally in April and took a non crafting friend. It was a great show and got to see lots of lovely crafting goodies although everytime I found a stall selling Tim Holtz new sissix dies they had sold out of the birdcage!! Anyway back in Scotland and back to work so trying to work out what sort of storage will work best and give me a good work area.

I have bought  some more cricut carts from Custom Crops - so playing with my small cricut. If I find I am going to use it more I am thinking of getting a gypsy but will wait and see. It would definately make travelling to London a less boring journey on the train.

Back again

Hi all
have been away for a while and no access to internet that's why no posts for a while. I do hope you all had a good easter break. Mine was quite restful. My youngest son visited at the weekend as it was his birthday so made a special meal and cake - it was good to see him. I had spent the previous day at the Ally Pally great stam and scrapbooking show - it was fabulous. Plenty of helpful and inspiring demos and loads to buy - and I did!!! How sore were my feet at the end?? The only down side which I didn't find out til the day after was that I had used the wrong train ticket and had my return ticket to Scotland gobbled up. The rail service were less than helpful so extra days in London for me and my son will drive me home later this week. I must be losing it.

I have manged to infect another friend with the crafting bug!! she came to the Ally Pally with me and was hooked.

Well I'm off to play with some of my new goodies. Keep crafting~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Good day Tuesday 23rd as it was a craft day on QVC and I had a day of work so could enjoy it all - The whole craft day was great as there were lots of new stuff to see and buy

Bad  day last Wednesday as my new Martha Stewart double loop punch broke - I was so sad as it is lovely. Still QVC said they will order a replacement so here's hoping!

Good day on Friday as my Tim Holtz TSV  from the craft day arrived - looks great and can't wait to have a play. .

Haven't been crafting much lately as work is so hectic I am brain dead when I get home. But have booked myself on a felt workshop on Sunday to try to revitalise my creativity. I enjoy making felt stuff but have lost my mojo lately.

Only 2 weeks to go to the Scottish Crafty Meet so another treat to look forward to.

Anyway to keep me going til; then there is a craft TSV on QVC tonight and a craft day on the 23rd with Tim Holtz  - can't wait as he is so inspirational.

I received my new cricut cartridge today

I received the My Community cartridge today from Custom Crops - much more on it than I thought and I should get lots of use out of it for both cards and scrapbooking. I must say that I am glad I found Custom Crops as their customer service and delivery time to the UK is excellent and thier cricut cartridge prices are very good. I have ordered the Storybook cartridge so can't wait for it to arrive. I hope to be uploading some of my stuff soon when I have got the hang of it!!

Another Friday

Have begun the scrapbook I am going to make for my grandson who turns 18 this year  -my neighbour is doing one for her grandaughter so we got together on Thursday night and made a start. Or rather I made a start as she has been more productive than me!! Still 2 pages done and more pixs printed off for next week. It is good to have a scrap buddy again since my crop ceased to run.

I have been looking at some of the videos from CHA 2010 and caught sight of the new Tim Holtz products. Really looking forward to getting the sissix dies he has designed - they are great.

It has turned really cold again brrrr!!!!  I am currently waiting for my new cricut cartridge from Custom Crops so hopefully they will soon arrive although one is back ordered so maybe a while

People Trafficking

You will see above I have added another banner  - please think about it as the misery that some people and children suffer at the hands of traffickers needs us to do something. I am having to produce an exhibition to raise local  awareness of the issues involved and although my work is not craft oriented I have been able with the help of a colleague to bring my craft into my work for this. Once it is complete I will take photos and post on the blog.

Monday, 18 January 2010

where has my bonny blog background gone??

Not sure what I have done but my blog background has disappeared so back to a more plain view - will need to see what I have done and get it all pretty again - new challenge!!

good news and bad - yin and yan!

Hi again - well as the title says I have good news - my sissix sale dies arrived - or rather half of them did - but they are lovely and I am glad they have arrived. However need to buy an extended crease pad to use with 2 of them so order in to cutting edge crafts and hope it is soon here. &
Bad news is that the scrapbooking crop I have been going to has ceased as the co-ordinator is unable to continue. It is very sad as I really looked forward to it each month and there is nothing else locally. Still I have a scrapbook to do for my grandson this year so will have to continue on my own. I will miss the encouragement of my fellow crop members though as they were always so helpful with comments and suggestions.

I am also looking forward to when the new Tim Holtz sissix dies are launched as the preview looks fab - so I'd better get saving!!

Back Again

Wow what a week - work has been really hectic and left no time for crafting! Still now the weekend is here and some me time is due. Have lots to play with too as I recieved my new sissix dies today and need to try them out.

Also now organised for the craty meet that is taking place in Dundee next month - new people to meet and a fun day I am sure.

Sunday, 10 January 2010

well back to the day job tomorrow so making the most of my day off - I must make a thankyou card tough for my colleague and will try to upload it as that is my next challenge. I really like how the blog is looking just now.

Challenge met!!

Hey hey  - managed to find out how to make some alterations to my blog - hope you like it as I do - I'll have to see what else I can find. Need to discover how to show my crafty items but that can wait for another day.

Happy New Year

Posted on 10/01/2010 00:23:36

Hope you all had a good christmas and new year break. I;m hoping tis year will be better as I haven;t been in a good place for a whild.

I have spent today sorting out photos for my next scrapbook, My grandson turns 18 later this year and I am doing a scrapbook for his birthday.

Also got to grip with the cricut eventually and now enjoying playing with it + bought the Plantin cartridge to play with from Customcrops in th US - hey are very good to deal with and their prices are good too. They have some videos on their site too with some good demos.

I''m thinking of getting the Storybook cartridge next.

Another challenge for this year is to try and make this blog more intersting so if anyone out there has any tips they can give they will be most welcome.
