SSC entry - Spring

Hi bloggers
The thene for Sweet Stamping Challenge this week is a spring one. I received a free stamp on the last Craft Stamper magazine of March Hares so thought I would use that and have a more distressed look than I usually do.  I also changed the layout of the labels to give a more offset look and cut up the foliage die to fit the ribbom flower bud - I have used:
  • free stamp
  • K&Co paper
  • organza ribbon
  • spellbinders labels
  • spellbinders foliage die
  • Bazill card 2 colours
  • memento cocoa - for image
  • rangers butterscotch and pesto inkpads

saturday crafting with sissix

hi fellow bloggers - I treated myself to a set of framelits by sizzix from hobbycraft this week as I had seen them befoe and thought they were a bit reminiscent of Rennie McIntosh designs. I have made a sympathy card with them by using the middle as a mat to stamp an image on and also because I wanted a solid image on the sides to look like embossing I put tape on the back to hold the pieces that would normally come out. I also cut the sides off the ornate cross to use as corner embellishments I have used:
  • centura pearl white card
  • sizzix framelits set Ironwork frame
  • a docrafts cross stamp from their set for confirmations
  • versamark ink
  • gold embossing powder
  • graphite double faced satin ribbon
  • sizzix ornate cross

sculpey beads

hi fellow bloggers a bit of a change for me as I have made some polymer clay beads and picked the best to upload - I quite like playing with the clay.

I have used pink/black and white for the top beads and the lipstick although the white was used to make a dark grey strip to wrap round the case. The lipstick was cooked with the headpin in to make it easier to use. Then with the blue pearl ones I have used pearl clay and mixed blue mica powder with it to get the pretty colour that it turned out to be.

hi fellow bloggers
I have a friends birthday coming up so thought I'd try out more of my craft show bargains from the SECC and made this card which isn't very dimensional due to postage but hope it gives a bit of the look of dimension as I have used layers. I used my heat tool on the ribbon to scrunch it up.
I have used:
  • bazill card
  • Lemon glitter card
  • centura pearl white
  • K&Co scrap
  • pearl gems
  • white and lemon organza ribbon
  • persian accents  - spellbinders
  • shapeabilities blossoms - spellbinders
  • ribbon buckle

LiM 60

Hi fellow bloggers - here is my entry for this weeks theme which is taking any 3 previous themes and combining them - I thought it would be harder than it is as too much choice for a Saturday morning but did eventually come up with this and it wasn't as hard as I thought.

The themes I have combined are:

Week 31 Colour Metallic
Week 55 Punches or Die cuts
Week 25 Recipe - button or ribbon

The ribbon is ruched on d/s tape and matching butterfly attached. I stamped a rose background stamp[kanban] with perfect medium and used metallic mica powders to colour. I used a suare punch to punch image into six pieces and mounted onto card and used an anna griffin corner punch.

One of my fave stamps/sissix embossing folder and my entry for this weeks SSC

Hi fellow bloggers another crafting weekend and as the sun has disappeared there is no excuse to do anything else lol! I really love this happy birthday stamp as it is such a simple clear image.  I stamped the image directly on the base card, embossed with clear powder and highlighted the flame then stamped the cupcake on the base card and also on to a seperate card which I cut out and layered and then added a red gem from a paperchase selection as a cherry on the top. I  have used for the blue card/envelope:-
  • happy birthday with candles stamp
  • martha stewart cup cake layer stamp from a stamp and punch
  • brilliance ink
  • stampendous clear embossing powder
  • promarker for flame
  • paperchase gem sticker
  • sissix embossing folder [for the envelope flap]
I have a couple of the martha stewart punch and stamp and find them quite a nice size for embellishments. Also after seeing the use of embossing folders on the envelope flap at the make and take with Stephanie Weightman at the SECC I am using it quite a bit more  and getting more use from my sissix folders
For the second card I have changed the shape of the card and used a different colour scheme and added some additional elements - I have used an anna griffin corner punch for the corners and also the border and lined the inner with matching pink card to highlight the corners. The also used pink and lilac organza ribbon together to get a closer match with the pink card. The last touch is to use my scor it to define the image,
  • happy birthday with candles stamp
  • martha stewart cup cake layer stamp from a stamp and punch
  • brilliance ink
  • stampendous clear embossing powder
  • promarker for flame
  • paperchase gem sticker
  • sissix embossing folder [for the envelope flap]
  • anna griffin floral corner punch
  • organza ribbon
  • scor it
  • pink C&C pearl card

I have entered this one for the SSC this week anything goes

Using dies - my new Cheery Lynn trellis

Hi all - here is a card using everything but stamps: it is for my ex SIL's birthday next Saturday.
I have used:
  •  the new trellis die from Cheery Lynn that I got at the SECC
  • sissix embossing folder - vines and berries
  • flower dies from a spellbinders set
  • leaves from the spellbinders foliage set
  • lemon organza ribbon
  • purple papermania minibrads
  • acetate butterly embellishment
  • pearl gems
I can see me using the trellis some more as it is lovely.

LiM 59 - theme Masking

hi fellow bloggers - another week and another LiM challenge - this week it is to use the masking technique. So I have decided to go for a graduation theme as my first attempt with flowers in a wheelbaroow was not a success lol!. I have used: -

  •  two orphan stamps  - cap and laurel and scroll
  • black arcival ink
  • kuretake silver pen
  • kuretake vellum writer - black
I stamped the  cap and laurel image first then masked that and stamped the scroll.
As I have lost my little sentiments stamp I hand wrote the well done with the vellum writer then underlined with the silver pen. All one layer without an embossing line so a change for me. Need to clean the stamps now!

where is your vagabond?

Sissix is running a competition to see where in the world people are with their Tim Holtz vagabond die cutting machine. I nearly forgot to post as had only linked up where mine is used/kept. I keep it in my sissix die cupboard and unlike some of the entries it is not particularly tidy but is well used lol! I think I now need to spend a bit of time sorting it out again - I do it every so often when I can't find a die I want!

SECC

hi fellow bloggers
The creative stitches and hobbycraft show is on at the SECC this weekend and I took the day off work Friday to go - had a great time met a lovely lady on the bus who was also travelling alone and having someone to chat to about crafts [and some other  stuff!] made the journey fly by. Then caught up with some local ladies from a craft club I sometimes get along to before sitting in on a mini workshop with Stephanie Weightman and her colleague. The workshop was a make and take using the sissix boutique embossing machine and sissix embossing folders and the new thing I learnt was to use embossing folders on the envelope flap - I think it is very effective.
My neighbour at the workshop [from the Shetland Isles] and I chatted away and found out we both love making jewllery too and watch Jewellery Maker. She was telling me about all the bargains as I gave up buying from shopping channels for lent so that I could use some up rather than watch the show lol!!! We went for a cuppa after and then went our seperate ways as I had to get  a couple of things I was after before I went for my bus home and she had a scond day to visit the show so could take it a bit easier.
Hwer is the card I made at Stephanies workshop - got a good idea to use doilies as lace and also to use embossing folders on the envelope - jsut a nice touch.

What did I buy  well you won't be suprised that I bought some nesties as I love them and Oyster Stamps do such good deals. Also got a couple of Cheery Lynn dies and some silk material and odds and ends - great day but very tiring so having a rest today - no housework, just crafting!!
