LiM -74

Happy Saturday [as long as you don't look out of the window!lol - another rainy day]
This weeks LiM is to use the LiM  heading as inspiration - not sure if I have interpreted it correctly but it is CAS.

I have gone for a card for a dad and it was going to be one layer but stamped dad back to front so decided not to waste the cup and in version 2 cut the cup out and raised it on pads. I curved it round so you don't really notice the dimension in the photo.

I have used: -
Kanban stamps
versamark ink
stampendous gold embossing powder
debbi moore pearl green embossing powder for the text and base of the cup
gold metallic creme rub n to age the cup
scor it to emboss defining lines

upcycling a tee shirt using my new ribbon from meiflower

hi fellow bloggers I have said before what a ribbon addict I am and thought I'd post a project I where I have used some lovely satin ribbon from Meiflower using a technique that I learnt from their very patient demonstrator at the SECC in March. Video demo from Meiflower here http://meiflowerblog.co.uk/2011/christmas-wreath-using-sage-green-ribbon/

I made 2 strips of pleated black ribbon and sewed them as decor to a plain teeshirt to match and then made a longer strip and turned it into a flower shape with a gold button as a centre for the centre of the neckline.
The ribbon and for the strips I used just over a metre. The flower took about 2 metres. The Meiflower ribbon rolls are 23metres for £1.99

sunday crafting

hi fellow bloggers
one thing about rotten summer weather is that I tend to craft a bit more as don't want to venture out just to get cold and wet! Anyway to day I have made a set of three cards - not sure if I will put a sentiment on or what sentiment if I do initially I thought a thank you - decisions, decisions. I used this idea on one of my LiM entries and really liked how it turned out.  The colours are really bright and summery. I have had this kaleidoscope ink pad for about 6yrs and it is still really juicy.

 I have used:
  • a stamp  by elusive images
  • kaleidoscope berries inkpad
  • scor it tool
  • fuschia gems
  • fushia ribbon
  • spray and shine by crafters companion

a sizzix home project

hi fellow bloggers

I have been using my sizzix dies to make some lavender sachets for my wardrobe - I bought some dried lavender and fat quarters from Hobby craft to make them and some toning ribbon. I made inner sachets for the lavender filling from some old muslin  and then covered with the lilac fat quarter material aftr adding a small amount of wadding. I used lilac thread to blanket stitch tound the outside. One down three more to go.

Happy Jubilee Monday - LiM 70

Hi fellow bloggers today is a day off for us because of the Queen's Jubilee celebrations  - so managed to get my jubilee colours entry for this weeks LiM challenge. Everywhere is red, blue and white at the moment it will seem quite bare when it is all over I think - a bit like when the xmas decorations ccome down.

I used my new Anna Griffin bunting stamps to make the flag and sentiment, cut it out and put it on pads to raise it up from the plain ones stamped in versamark with the flag pole. I cut blue and red mats with nestabilities and wrapped white organza ribbon crosswise round the red mat, Then I placed it on the card bland that had been embossed top and bottom with papermania dots [ free on a creativity magazine].
