Hi Just found this post when visiting my dashboard - still a few days left to try and win it just click the link below - sorry the picture wouldn't save.

http://thestampingboutiquechallengeblog.blogspot.com/2011/12/blog-candy.html#.Tv8-iK8bA1U.email

have started my Thank you cards

On the ball today! as I have begun my thankyou cards for christmas prezzies. Have used nesties and anna griffin punches on these. The papers/card is from my stash and the ribbons is from making memories as part of a pack.

Also one of my resolutions is to not leave cards for family and friends til the last minute so that they are not rushed Have begun though as my cousin turns 70 this year so have started his card and will upload when it is completed. I have taken some inspiration from Sue Wilson of the Particraft blog for it although not up to her standard!

Was off work yesterday and watched the craft sale tsv on QVC - as it was Bazzill card - my fave card - so decided to treat myself.
Well it just arrived at my door - couldn't believe it - great for using when I am off at the weekend making thankyou cards for my christmas prezzies.

fed up with poor service

I am really getting fed up with co's who take your money and then don't answer any emails when your order doesn't arrive. I ordered a craft book through amazon but the seller was abebooks some months ago now. I was patient because it was coming from the USA but now 3 months later and 3 emails asking what is happening - nothing. No  book, no explanation nor apology - have decided not to buy through amazon again and certainly not from the seller abebooks.  There are plenty of good co's out there who do give good service but I think I will make more of a fuss about poor service/no service and if I get no reply will tell everyone about it. Right rant over!!

qvc bargains - CBGM blog challenge

Treated myself to new punches from the clearance section. The Anna Griffin punches are pretty and useful and I have use one of the corner ones on the Sweet Stampin Challenge entry. And here is one of the others; the 3D ribbon punch.

My friend loves big cards which is a challenge for me as I usually like 5" x 5" or below. But as it's christmas!! I have used:
Sissix frame back die
Kanban die cut
paper and card from my stash
Anna Griffin 3D ribbon punch
white organza ribbon
stazon black ink
glossy tissue from a Lidl's craft pack.

I stamped the poinsettia image on 6 sheets and cut out and decoupaged -and then punched 2 small flower images for the centre and then layerd it all up.
The  ribbon punch outs were threaded through with the organza ribbon and tied off at the ends.

I am entering this in the CBGM challenge red & green

There is a you tube video of Anna on QVC USA demoing the punches if you want to see it as the UK QVC don't have the demo anymore.

on a bit of a roll

Hi fellow bloggers I am now getting on with xmas cards and also using my nesties a bit more.
On this one I have used only nesties and paper/card from my stash. With the hanging ornament made from angelina fibres [ironed into a sample piece] and cut out with a nestie. That let me know that nesties work with angelina fibres which will be useful for other projects.

xmas card 3

Not exactly breaking any records but getting back into cardmaking again - just realised how much to do before christmas! Thanks to all who have left comments - they are much appreciated.

I have used:
  • sissix snowflake embossing folder on acetate
  • white organza ribbon
  • nestie
  • embellishment from an old kit

xmas card 2

Well now I've started xmas cards thought I'd bash on - this is the only one that hasn't got wet glossy accents!
I've decided to start using up some of the bargains I have bought previously that have sat in boxes and bags. I got these bubbles from a sale about 15 months ago so definately time they found a purpose.. Also used a cuttlebug swiss dots folder as it is so versatile and one of the accent sets by spellbinders as I watched Sue Wislon the other week and she makes them look so effective. Plus one of my unknown no of ribbons as I so love ribbons I can never reisit them!!

New LiM entry - Week 43 - A bit of bling

Here is my entry for the LiM challenge this week
I have used:
  • a free stamp from Craftystamper
  • memento ink
  • promarkers to colour in the image
  • layerd on to a punch out from a Martha Stewart punch
  • tied on with ribbon and a peel off greeting on the ribbon
  • added bling to the foliage
I have used peels offs as I have so many that I have gathered over time that I really need to use some of them up! I aee them and think they will come in handy and then they just join the existing pile as I never remember what I have!

updated my profile

hi all I have become a fan of QR codes as am looking at their use for my day job - so thought I'd have one for my blog.

5 mins of fame again

Hi bloggers
Here are some accessories that I put on the WAF on Jewellerymaker.com and they were shown and my email read out again during the programme - it is quite exciting especially when the presenter Fee said how much she liked the bobby pins. I am enjoying it while it lasts. The other items are a mobile phone charm and a bag charm using some odd gemstones I had left..

I was meant to put up my sons birthday card but forgot about it til I had stuck the envelope with heavy duty tape as it is going to Spain!!

LiM entry for this week - one layer card featuring a pair

It is a few weeks since I have been able to enter this so am glad to have an opportunity this week but not sure if the sentiment is too far over. I have used:
a floral stamp
a sentiment stamp - thankyou
black memento ink
4 promarkers in shades of green and lilac

Having a crafty day!

Had to make a thank you card and a RAK card in autumn colours today so here they are - next job to finish my LiM card for this week as it is a while since I have entered this challenge.
The autumn card is not as clean as i had wished as I tried a one layer approach but as it needs to be off quickly I will go with it as I have put in a pretty coloured insert

Back from hols

butterfly motif
Stage 1
Finished tiara
Have just spent some time in Borehamwood visiting family and celebrating my friends birthday at a suprise party organised by her family. We have been friends since we were children and this year we both had big birthdays as they are only a month apart.. As part of her gift I made her a tiara as she loves a bit of glitz. She loves the colour pink and also butterflies so have incorporated both. It was made with gems/wire and tiara base that I had bought from Jewellerymaker.com then added some glittery wired ribbon.

happy birthday to my best friend

I'm off to visit my friend this week as she is having a suprise birthday party - made a card which hasn't photograhed well but is my 2nd attempt as the original went badly wrong and I had only a short time to replace to get ready to travel so after a mini panic  picked her fave colours  and hope she likes it. Sometimes the best laid plans go wrong but something can be salvaged and I will use bits of the gone wrong one for her scrapbook page.

I have been visitibng some of the other blogs Monica gave these awards to and there is so much inspiration out there but I can't leave comments for some reason. Anyway here is one of the awards. I pcked this one first because I love strawberries and this looks yummy!

blog candy available

Hi I was checking out the blogs of my followers and found this blog candy at Jacque's Joie de Vivres blog which I just have to enter as the closing date is my birthday - how spooky is that!! Anyway click on the sidebar if you want a chance of winning and also check out the blog it's on as it is a great blog.

Had a great day out on Friday!

Hi all -I took the plunge and travelled to Sedgefield on Friday - well stayed over in Newton Aycliffe on Thursday night so I would get there on time. What for? A workshop with Barbara Gray {Clarity Stamps for the uninitiated}. Well what a great day and well worth the journey. I met some lovely people especially Annette, the co tutor,  and her husband who so kindly gave me a lift to the station so I wouldn't have to leave early to get my train. We learnt a lot and now I am home I can take some time to think about what went well for me and what I need to work at. Also got some lovely stamps and ink pads to add to my stash!! well who wouldn't? I wasn't the only one travelling a distance - there was a lady from Glasgow and one from Carlisle - not sure if there was anyone from further afield.

Before I went I got up to date with the next RAK so I could get it posted good and early when I get my partner from GillMDesigns - here is a preview minus the insert.

The theme this time was a shaped card - not square or rectangle - so I have used a handbag template, stamped and embossed on gold card and vellum. Used a martha stewart punch, fiskars corner punch and
ribbons. Also used pearl embellishments for clasp and end of handles.
