cricut card

Hi fellow bloggers
I got a reminder from windows this morning about my brothers upcoming birthday so thought I would use my seriously underused cricut and cartridge to make a card. I have used the celebrations cartridge and a card cut with birthday cut out. Then cut a tag with happy and a mat tag - both using scraps in my bid to use stash!. They were put together and mounted on a white card then given a celebratory spray with crafters companion spray and sparkle! Just an insert and verse to compose and that is it ready to send.

Happy crafting

Learning from other bloggers

Hi fellow bloggers todays post is a card using a technique I saw on this weeks LiM challenge and a tutorial is on  http://whiffofjoy.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/hintergrund-mit-acrylblock.html if you would like to check it out.

It is a simple technique that can give a fab result. I used fired brick distressed ink and dripped water from my water pen [ couldn't find a spritzer and want to get on and try it!!]. I covered the acrylic block with the ink and added the water and then pressed onto a piece of card and left to dry. When I looked at it I saw poppies  - to make them more poppy like  I added black soot with the water pen to some of them and blotted the excess off and again left to dry. Once dry I layered onto toning card and added a piece of ombre ribbon that matched. Hope you like it as I really do. I am going to try some different distress inks to see what effects I can get as I have now found a spritzer!! Sometimes I think my stash disappears into some kind of parellel universe then turns back up again - so wish I was organised but that gene seems to have eluded me Lol!

Using my new anna griffin die

Hi fellow bloggers - I hope you are having a good weekend and getting some crafting time!
I recently bought some anna griffin dies - really tried not to:)

Anyway this is the first card I have used one of them with - I have cut out quite a few for playing with Lol! The script stamp is an old one from my copious stash! I stamped it with Memento London Fog. The hearts are cut from red vellum using a small sizzix die from the big shot starter kit. The centre die is actually 2  dies cut and then trimmed and joined together to fit the card. The same script stamp was used for the envelope inner.  -  happy crafting  I am entering this in the http://die-cut-divas.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/words-quotes-sentiments-just-for-you.html
I hope the script meets their words criteria.

LiM Feb 14th

Hi fellow bloggers - todays LiM challenge is about Love - no suprise given the date :) and it had to be just one layer. I am a bit out of practice as have been off blogland and cardmaking for a while so just picking up again!

I have used an old stamp from Hero Arts and stamped it more than once using Fired Brick distress ink pad. The sentiment is part of a free craft stamper gift and stamped with Memento London fog and underlined with silver pen.

Less is More entry

Hi fellow bloggers
I am a bit late with this but hopefully not too late. It is 4yrs since the LiM challenge began and the theme is pink and grey. So congratulations and happy birthday to the LiM team.

For this card I have used hero arts grey shadow to colour the space under the pink strip from sizzix sizlets pad which was finished with a martha stewart edge punch. The strip was then given an embossed edge using the scorit.

I used stazon grey ink pad for the sentiment and edged it and parts of the pansies with sakura glitter pen. The two pink butterflies were punched out and the grey dragon fly was also using the hero arts ink pad.
