back to crafting

What a week - I've had no time for crafting - but took some time this afternoon to finish this card:
I have used another Katy Sue stamp with promarkers backed on to complementary coloured mats and paper. The card is edged with velvet ricrac and handmade tissue flowers.

custom crops

well I received my new cricut cart today from custom crops - their sales and service are always very good -  I will be trying it out later this week. I would have today but got engrossed in the QVC craft shows as Tim Holtz and Anna Griffin were over and showing some of their demos. Was disappointed that Tim's new dies weren't available but hope they soon they will be as I love the car and Charlie Chaplin look-a-like especially for scrapping old family photos where those dies will add to the layouts.

Inspired by Eileen Hull

front on

Hi again
top view

brad fixers

This is my take on Eileen Hull's sissix die  - ruffled cupcake. This is a great die and I have made it as a present for my friend Elsie and have put a piece of jewellery under the crumpled tissue paper "icing". I am sure I will use this die quite a lot. I cut it out of mountboard and stamped with a small peg stamp flower using chalk ink. I joined the edges using flower design brads and lined and topped the gift with red crumpled tissue and topped it off with a handmade flower, I have taken 3 pix to show the different parts.

Sundays warm up!

Started this card on Weds and finished this morning - used some new papers I bought from QVC sale by My Minds Eye - they are really nice quality. This is my attempt at chalking - not sure yet but will keep on trying. I used a stamp with perfect medium to get the image and the nmade paper flowers for the embellishments. The image was backed onto matching paper with organza ribbon trim and a ribbon made of same colour but differnt thickness. Finished off with pearls and card candy.

Thank you

I would just like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has commented on my challenge entries - it is a real confidence boost. I am enjoying taking part in the challenges and getting inspiration from others.

Sweet Stamping Challenge

Here is my entry for the sweet stamping challenge  - red, white and blue - this week. These colours always make me think of nautical things so thats what I have used as a stamp. I have used a 6" square card and used sizzlits backing paper in stripes  for the background and red for the large nestie circle. The stamp is a 4 sided cube stamp from Judikins. I used 2 of the stamps - stamping the boat first then masking it to put in the background and a 2nd set of seagulls. The edge is finished with a red grosgrain ribbon and the bottom edge is the fiskars threading water punch.

For my brothers birthday

My brother has a birthday on the 24th of this month so made a card for him today. I was going to make it for the red/white and blue challenge but remembered he doesn't like red so had a quick rethink! I used a sissix embossing folder, cricut for numbers and letters - celebrations cart and card candy. He likes minimal so he should be happy.

using sissix bigz embosslit

I really liked the backing paper from the last card so as I had been playing with my new bits from the post xmas sissix sale thought I'd put them together. The punched edge is using the ek success jewel edger punch. I'm not sure if it is a wedding cake or birthday cake but probably can be used for both or even for anniversary cards!
